The WinStar Global Event Center Renovation represents a transformative investment in both guest experience and operational efficiency, reflecting WinStar’s continued leadership in the gaming and hospitality industries. At the heart of the project is the repurposing of the existing entertainment venue, a bold move that enables a significant expansion of the gaming floor while allowing the relocation of the facility’s back-of-house (BOH) functions to a newly constructed second floor.
This renovation reimagines over 121,600 SF of space across two levels. Of the total, approximately 70,300 SF on the first floor is now dedicated to gaming, food and beverage offerings, and essential support areas. Central to this reprogramming is a 48,000 SF upscale gaming floor, which has become a vibrant focal point of the hotel complex. This new gaming area supports an impressive 1,800 gaming machines, designed to deliver an immersive and comfortable environment for players of all levels.
Complementing the gaming experience is a 1,500 SF secluded bar, offering an intimate retreat within the bustling energy of the floor. It features seating for 14 patrons at the bar top and soft seating for an additional 40 guests, blending sophistication with comfort. Adjacent to the gaming area, a 5,000 SF fast-casual restaurant provides seating for 80 and features a state-of-the-art kitchen to serve guests quickly and efficiently. The first-floor layout is rounded out by strategically placed service bars, modern restrooms, and a variety of support spaces, all designed to facilitate smooth operations and elevate the guest experience.
To enable this first-floor transformation, existing BOH operations were relocated to a newly constructed 51,300 SF second floor. This upper level has been thoughtfully designed to support 11 departments, offering a total of 50 private offices and 135 cubicles, along with shared employee amenities including break rooms, conference rooms, and various support spaces. This relocation not only optimizes operational workflows but also creates a more modern and collaborative environment for staff.
One of the standout features of the second floor is the 6,600 SF training suite, purpose-built to foster professional development and onboarding. The suite includes a spacious pre-function area, a 36-seat orientation room, two 18-seat classrooms, an 18-seat computer lab, and a dedicated live entertainment training lab. The area is further enhanced with its own restrooms, providing a self-contained and highly functional training environment.
The renovation also includes essential infrastructure improvements. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems have been upgraded to support the expanded program, and enhanced security and life-safety systems ensure the safety and well-being of guests and employees alike.
Executed in carefully phased stages to minimize disruption, this renovation reflects WinStar’s vision of continual improvement — balancing ambitious growth with thoughtful design and operational excellence. Through this project, the WinStar Global Event Center not only expands its footprint but reinforces its position as a world-class destination for gaming, hospitality, and entertainment.
