Bowie Army Reserve Center

This new $22.8 million Army Reserve Center consists of a Training Center, an Organizational Maintenance Shop, and an Unheated Storage Building. Associated site work, infrastructure, POV parking, and secure military equipment parking areas were also included in this project.

The 15-acre site consolidates three existing Maryland Army Reserve Centers to provide mission training and preparedness for seventeen units in the 99th Army Reserve Group.

The Training Center is 78,480 SF and includes classrooms, offices, administration area, vault, fitness area, gear and equipment storage, dining, and a large assembly area. The Organization Maintenance Shop is 5,688 SF and includes a vehicle maintenance bay with crane and lifts, hazardous material storage, and an administrative support area. The 5,122 SF storage building includes secure, caged storage for equipment and supplies in an unheated environment.

The Army Reserve Center includes two public address systems, one for the assembly area and one for the weapons simulator room — with these systems also interfacing with the fire alarm and mass notification systems. Secondary roadways and site utilities were also designed. Additionally, the scope of work included LEED Silver Certification for the campus and each building along with compliance with all UFCs, including Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection.
