FSB team gives Cameron University a new campus ‘heart.’

Having a comfortable, attractive and functional area for students to gather is vital. That’s why, in many cases, the student center could be considered the true heart of every university campus.

For Cameron University in Lawton, that heart is now housed in beautiful new surroundings, specifically the McMahon Centennial Complex. A two-story brick, stone and glass building, the complex provides a state-of-the-art home away from home, with amenities that benefit students, faculty and the larger community. In addition to a campus book store, the complex contains a food court with seating for 200, student activity areas, a game room large enough for four regulation-sized pool tables, and a large, outdoor patio with radiant heaters and misters which allow it to be used nearly year-round.

FSB staff provided a flexible design that includes sub-dividable meetings rooms and an executive boardroom, as well as spaces for student organization and administrative functions. A “one-stop” information center is prominently positioned in the interior first floor to serve new students and visitors, and an art gallery is housed just inside the east entrance.

On the second floor, a 400+ seat banquet hall/ballroom opens out onto a large balcony overlooking the gardens. The McCasland Ballroom’s flexibility allows it to be easily customized for university events and rented to the general public for weddings, proms, banquets, workshops and other special events.
