Bowie Armed Forces Reserve Center

This $22.8 million project is a new 600-member Army Reserve Center (ARC) consisting of a Training Center, Organizational Maintenance Shop and an Unheated Storage Building. Also included are associated site work and utilities, fire pump and associated building and military equipment parking. The Training Center is 78,480 SF and includes classrooms, offices, administration area, fitness area, dry storage and a large assembly area. The Organization Maintenance Shop is 5,688 SF and includes a vehicle work bay and administrative support area. The 5,122 SF Unheated Storage Building includes caged storage units. The ARC includes two public address systems, one for the assembly area and one for the weapons simulator room. The two public address systems shall interface with the fire alarm and mass notification system. The fire alarm and mass notification system shall override the public address system during emergency situations.

The 15-acre site consolidates three existing Maryland Army Reserves Centers. Seventeen units in the 99th Army Reserve Group train at this location, with each unit representing approximately 200 reservists.
