New business building takes Cameron University to the next level.
Cameron University’s School of Business is one of its largest and strongest programs, one whose rapid growth resulted in the need for a significantly larger, state-of-the-art building to accommodate its growing enrollment. The solution provided by FSB’s creative team resulted in construction of a beautiful two-story structure with distinctive educational features, including a simulated stock trading floor with a real-time market ticker board. Modern-day business educational needs also are served through a computer lab containing 48 fully wired PC stations and an accounting lab with space for 22. A career center, complete with interview practice rooms and an adjacent observation room, provides additional interactive educational opportunities.
With a red brick exterior featuring cream-colored archways and accents, along with large glass windows throughout, the CU Business School’s bottom floor begins with a central lobby leading directly into a two-story, 114-seat auditorium. Gathering areas with comfortable seating are scattered throughout, encouraging students and faculty to interact informally on a regular basis. Classrooms, seminar rooms, traditional administrative spaces and faculty offices are present on both floors.
University officials were so pleased with the finished result that the decision was made for all future campus buildings to match this project’s architectural style and look, creating a streamlined appearance for the future. The facility was also renamed the Cynthia S. Ross Hall Business School, in honor of CU’s retiring president, who worked closely with FSB throughout the entire design and construction process.
