Gary James, PE, NCEES

Civic Market Principal

As the Principal of FSB’s Civic market, Gary James relies on his more than 30 years of experience in Oklahoma City to better understand the needs of FSB’s civic clients. Born and raised in the Oklahoma City metro area, Gary has solid, long-standing relationships with clients, contractors and subcontractors, giving him a unique ability to lead teams of architects and engineers who specialize in these types of projects. Gary’s experience allows him to lead the FSB team in a very proactive approach to gaining consensus, resolving a wide range of technical issues and moving projects forward, keeping. them on time and within budget.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Gary is licensed as a mechanical engineer in 17 states. He previously served on the Board of Governors for ASHRAE’s central Oklahoma chapter and is active in the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of both Leadership Oklahoma and Leadership Oklahoma City.

Gary also sets a company tone that encourages giving back to the community. He leads by example, lending his talents to a number of philanthropic projects. Among his passions is a private initiative which constructed chapels in five Oklahoma prisons, and he serves on the board of Positive Tomorrows, an Oklahoma school for homeless children.
